Harry Potter Travel Guide – Must Visit Locations

If you’re a Harry Potter fan, I bet you’ve been dreaming of visiting Hogwarts since you first read the books or watch the first film. That’s why I bring you this list of Harry Potter related destinations, where you can go and be closer than ever to the Wizarding World.

 

 

Bodleian Library, Oxford

One of the Oxford University’s libraries was used to film the library scenes in the Harry Potter movies. Not only that but, the university’s divinity school was also showed in Harry Potter a the infirmary, a place the trio visited a good amount times during the series.

King’s Cross Station, London

This busy London station is where young wizard go to hop on the Hogwarts Express for the first time. And you can too! Well, not exactly, but you can take a cute picture with the platform 9¾ trolley!

Alnwick Castle, UK

This beautiful castle surrounded by equally beautiful landscape, located in the English county of Northumberland, was where Madam Hooch’s broom flying class was filmed. Harry and Ron’s car crash and fight with the Whomping Willow was also filmed here.
 

4 Privet Drive, Little Whinging, Surrey

I don’t know what’s more iconic, Hogwarts or Privet Drive, but I do know at least one of them you can visit, out there on the streets! Fun fact: The house where Harry lived was up for sale a while ago, having been completely renovated on the inside by it’s owners.

Goathland Station, England

This station, located in North Yorkshire, was used as the Hogsmeade station, where the Hogwarts Express stops.

The Jacobite, Scotland & Glenfinnan Viaduct

The Jacobite is a steam tourist train that will take you to the Glenfinnan Viaduct, where the Hogwarts Express goes thought to reach Hogwarts.
Go take a look at their website if you’re interested in boarding this train. No Dementors included.
 

Black Park Country Park, England

This is where the scenes in the Dark Forest were shot. Unfortunately, you won’t find any unicorns, or centaurs, but you can have a lovely day closer to nature and the Harry Potter world.

Christ Church, Oxford

A replica of the Christ Church Hall was made to film the Harry Potter movies in the studio. The replica was used to film the Hall scenes. You can visit the real thing by going to Christ Church.

Warner Bros. Leavesden Studio

This is the production home of the Harry Potter movies. You can have a tour of the studios, ride a broomstick, eat Bertie Bott’s every flavor beans and much more.

Wizarding World Of Harry Potter, Florida

Explore Hogsmeade and Diagon Alley and experience everything the Wizarding World has to offer.
